Service Above Self
The Rotary Club of New Prague was established in 1945 and to this day continues to carry out its mission of service above self. Our members consist of local community members, business owners and retirees looking to reach out and do good in the world. Rotary International sets the tone for our club as we all try to carry out its mission, vision and values
The Rotary Club of New Prague offers support, both financially and through volunteer work, to many organizations in Le Seuer and Scott county and locally around the New Prague area. We are proud to work with such organizations as School District 721, Habitat for Humanity, Peace Center (our local food shelf) and Let’s Go Fishing. The club provides youth a scholarship in the spring as well as sponsors youth to attend leadership and development camps throughout the school year. We are active in a reading program at the elementary school level and have donated resources to prevent underage drinking and driving to the high school.

THE FOUR-WAY TEST
of the things we think, say, or do
First
Is it the TRUTH?
Second
Is it FAIR to all concerned?
Third
Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
Fourth
Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
“If you have the love of your fellow men in your hearts, my friends, you are a potential Rotarian.”
– Paul Harris, founder of Rotary
What’s New at New Prague Rotary
The Rotarian Spotlight is on ✨Sheilina Sperry✨
This week we're proud to feature Sheilina Sperry, Financial Advisor at Edward Jones and the current President of the New Prague Rotary Club!
Sheilina is passionate about the New Prague community and is dedicated to making it a better place for everyone who lives, works, and visits here. In her professional role, she enjoys helping individuals and families navigate life's milestones through thoughtful financial planning and wealth management.
A Rotarian since 2022, Sheilina loves that Rotary provides an opportunity to serve not only the New Prague community, but communities around the world. Her favorite Rotary activities are those that bring members together with the community, including the Dožínky Car Cruise, hosting local organization speakers, and volunteering wherever there's a need.
Fun Fact: Sheilina is the youngest of five girls and loves to travel!
Thank you, Sheilina, for your leadership, service, and commitment to making a difference through Rotary! 💙
Last week, we had the opportunity to hear from Sarah Kallal and her team about the upcoming Feed My Starving Children MobilePack coming to New Prague. Thank you for sharing how our community can come together to make a meaningful impact in the fight against hunger.
We're grateful for the work being done to bring this incredible service opportunity to our community and encourage everyone to get involved if they're able!
We are just over a week away - Join us for our next Rotary fundraiser at Brew Prague! Giesenbräu Bier Co.
Let's have some fun while doing good things for our community. Proceeds from this event will go to the Peace Center Food Shelf and help with other local initiatives through the New Prague Rotary Club!
We hope to see you there!
This week the spotlight is on✨Kristen Zweber✨
This week we're excited to introduce Kristen Zweber, Accounting Manager at Electromed, Inc. Kristen grew up in South Dakota and moved to New Prague nearly two years ago after marrying her husband. They now have a son who will celebrate his first birthday in August, and he definitely keeps them on their toes!
Kristen joined Rotary as a way to become more connected to her new community. Through Rotary, she's built meaningful relationships, made New Prague feel more like home, and enjoys giving back through service and volunteer opportunities.
One of her favorite parts of Rotary is visiting local businesses and hearing from the incredible speakers who share what's happening throughout our community each week. She is also newly on the Rotary board and serves as our secretary!
Fun Fact: Kristen is a triplet!
Thank you, Kristen, for your enthusiasm, service, and all you bring to the New Prague Rotary Club! 💙
Have you purchased your tickets for Brew Prague yet? There is still time!
Support your local Rotary Club, Peace Center Food Shelf, and local brewery and this one-stop event!
We hope to see you Giesenbräu Bier Co. on August 15th!
✨ Rotarian Spotlight: Sarah Kallal ✨
This week we're featuring Sarah Kallal, co-owner of 2nd Swing Golf, alongside her husband, Simon.
Sarah and Simon have four kids and stay busy with all things golf and wrestling. As a family, they love spending time outdoors and enjoying music together.
Sarah joined Rotary in 2018 because she truly believes in Service Above Self. Her favorite part of being a Rotarian is helping with the Dožínky Car Cruise and pitching in wherever the club needs an extra hand on its biggest projects.
A few fun facts about Sarah: she loves backpacking, has never had an ice cream headache, and didn't try coffee until just a month ago! ☕🥾
Thank you, Sarah, for your service in our community!
Thank you to Jess Schoenwald and Scott County Attorney Ron Hocevar for joining us at Rotary this week to share about Choose Not To Use, a valuable prevention initiative through the Scott County Attorney's Office.
We appreciated learning more about the program's mission to educate and empower youth to make healthy, informed choices while building stronger communities. Thank you both for the important work you're doing and for taking the time to speak with our club!
🌟 Rotarian Spotlight 🌟
This week, we're featuring Angela Sticha!
Angela serves as Executive Director of Duck Cup Memorial, a nonprofit dedicated to mental health awareness and suicide prevention through education and inspirational speakers.
Angela joined Rotary because it provides another opportunity to give back to the community through service and volunteering. While Duck Cup Memorial has been involved with Rotary for the past three years, Angela herself has been a member for the past year.
Her favorite part of Rotary is helping with Dožínky and seeing the community come together to celebrate and support one another.
💙 Fun Fact: Duck Cup Memorial was founded in 2013 by five New Prague High School graduates to honor the memory of a friend and create a lasting impact through mental health awareness and suicide prevention efforts.
Thank you, Angela, for the work you do to support both our community and those facing mental health challenges!
