The spotlight is on Rotarian 🌟 Jessica Dohm 🌟

Meet this week’s featured Rotarian, Jessica Dohm, owner of Dohmain Designs!

Jessica is a marketing consultant specializing in marketing automation and website design. She loves helping small and medium-sized businesses grow and describes herself as a bit of a “wizard behind the curtain”, quietly working behind the scenes to make everything work.

A Rotarian for around 10 years, Jessica believes everyone has talents they can use to serve their community and that every contribution, big or small, adds up to something bigger. She also values the friendships and camaraderie she’s found through Rotary.

Her favorite Rotary project is the Peace Garden, where she helped with the planning and continues to participate in weekly maintenance and harvests. She especially loves donating the produce to the Peace Center food shelf and feeling connected to the community, even though she admits she knows virtually nothing about gardening!

Fun fact: Jessica’s family frequently hosts foreign exchange students and even traveled to Nepal to visit a former student and their family. Her favorite travel buddy is her daughter, who has visited more foreign countries than U.S. states! 🌎

This week, New Prague Rotary found a fun and unique way to give back to our community! 🎂

During our meeting, Rotarians assembled more than 25 birthday cake kits to donate to the Peace Center Food Shelf.

A huge thank-you to our club members who purchased and donated the items for the kits, and to everyone who joined us to assemble and deliver them to the Peace Center.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to turn a simple idea into a little extra joy for someone in our community. ❤️

🌟 The Rotary spotlight is on Josh Tetzlaff! 🌟

This week, we’re excited to spotlight Josh Tetzlaff, City Administrator for the City of New Prague and a Rotarian since 2022!

Josh joined Rotary as a way to get involved with an organization dedicated to improving the community around it. His favorite Rotary activity? Trash clean-up! Having lived in communities across the country, Josh appreciates the effort it takes to keep New Prague clean and reduce our environmental footprint.

Outside of work and Rotary, Josh is a busy dad of four incredible kids, ages 9, 7, 5, and 3. He’s also a college football fan, enjoys spending time in nature, and loves making music. In fact, Josh plays several different instruments and is always up for trying a new one!

Thanks, Josh, for being part of New Prague Rotary and for helping make our community a better, and cleaner, place to call home!

Whew! The New Prague Rotary Club has been a little MIA while we’ve been busy getting this year’s Dozinky Car Cruise rolling! 🚗🇨🇿

And WOW…did the rain show up! ☔️😂 But even with the wet weather, we were thrilled to see so many cars and dedicated car enthusiasts come out and make the most of it with us.

A HUGE thank you to all of the Rotarians who braved the rain, got soaked, and still showed up to make the Car Cruise happen. Our Car Cruise head volunteers, Nathan Brusseau and Jeff Jacobson, knocked it out of the park. We appreciate every one of you for putting service above self! ❤️

Rain or shine, this Rotary crew gets it done. 😉

Last week, our Rotary meeting took us to Central Plaza for a picnic and then over to City Hall for a tour!

We enjoyed learning more about the history of the longtime City Hall building and hearing about the city’s plans for the future, including the recent purchase of a new building on the east side of town that will better fit the city’s needs.

Thank you to our City Administrator and fellow Rotarian, Josh Tetzlaff, for leading the tour and sharing your knowledge with us! We always enjoy learning more about our community. 💙

🌟 ROTARIAN SPOTLIGHT: THERESA WENKER 🌟

This week, we’re highlighting Theresa Wenker, Exchange Manager at Bevcomm and a Rotarian for 10 years!

Theresa has called the New Prague community home for 27 years and has spent 26 of those years working at Bevcomm. She says one of the most rewarding parts of her work is helping customers with their needs, and that same desire to help others carries over into her involvement with Rotary. She enjoys giving back to the community and supporting people in need.

After a decade in Rotary, Theresa says her favorite event is the Dožínky Car Cruise. 🚗

Fun Fact: she’s a state champion bowler! 🎳 Theresa won the Men’s 2012 Minnesota State Open Championship Division 2 Singles Bowling Tournament. How’s that for a fun fact?!

Thanks, Theresa, for being part of Rotary and for continuing to give back to the community you’ve called home for nearly three decades!

Today, Dan Jacobson led our membership meeting, and we were excited to officially welcome two new Rotarians, Adam Hartmann and Courtney Braith, both from First Bank and Trust! 🎉

We enjoyed a great meal, a little friendly competition, and plenty of fun and networking with fellow community leaders. It’s always a good reminder that Rotary is about more than meetings, it’s about building connections and making a difference.

The spotlight is on Rotarian 🌟Andrew Vollmuth 🌟

This week, we're shining the spotlight on Andrew Vollmuth, Superintendent of New Prague Area Schools and a Rotarian for the past four years!

Andrew is proud to lead our local school district as it builds on its strong traditions while creating a promising future for students and families. Rotary gives him another way to serve the greater community beyond his role with the schools, while building relationships with civic-minded leaders from throughout the area.

His favorite part of Rotary is our weekly meetings and the opportunity they provide to connect, learn, and engage with fellow members.

🎓 Fun fact: Andrew graduated high school with just 21 students in his class!

The spotlight is on Rotarian, 🌟 Adam Hartmann 🌟

Meet Adam Hartmann, one of the newest members of the New Prague Rotary Club!

Adam believes strong communities are built through service, relationships, and a commitment to helping one another. As Community Bank President at First Bank & Trust, he has the opportunity to work with local businesses and families throughout the area, and Rotary gives him another way to be involved and contribute to the community he calls home.

Though he’s only been a Rotarian for a few months, Adam has enjoyed gathering each week, connecting with fellow members, and learning more about the many organizations and activities making a difference in our community.

Fun fact: Adam grew up on a family dairy farm outside of town and still stays involved in crop farming today! 🚜

We’re grateful to have Adam’s community-minded perspective and willingness to serve as part of New Prague Rotary! 💙💛
