2019 New Prague Rotary Scholarship

Service Above Self

The Rotary Club of New Prague is proud to again sponsor one graduating high school student with a $1,000 scholarship.


  • A blind selection process will be used
  • Children of Rotarians can apply, but parent cannot be on the selection panel

Eligibility Requirements

  • 2018/2019 graduating senior from New Prague High School.
  • Student must demonstrate his or her involvement in service, citizenship, leadership and activities/clubs.
  • Student must show evidence of initiative in their personal life.
  • Student must have a 2.0 grade point average or higher. A copy of their official high school transcript is required for verification.
  • Student must be planning to go on to a four year college/university or two year community college or technical school in fall 2019.

Please Include with Your Application:

  • Official high school transcript
  • Application signed and dated by student and parent
  • Educational history information
  • Future education plans and major
  • Employment history
  • Any special recognitions or successes

All applicants must answer the follow questions:

  1. Please describe your future career aspirations. Be sure to explain your motivation for choosing this career path and how the Rotary Scholarship award would help you attain your goals.
  2. Please explain how service fits into your life. Please include a list of any community service you’ve participated in.
  3. Define what makes a “good citizen” in a community
  4. Please describe your involvement in school-related activities. Make note of the extent of your involvement and any special recognitions, leadership roles, etc…

2019 Dates: April 12 – April 16, 2019

Camp RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) is a five-day camp which strengthens leadership skills and capabilities of high school students through physical, mental, emotional, and intellectual challenges. There is an emphasis on problem solving, teamwork, and interaction with other outstanding students and volunteer counselors and presenters. Any high school sophomore, junior or senior is eligible to attend.

Details for the 2019 Camp RYLA are coming soon!!

New Prague Rotary Club will pay the entire registration fee and also provide transportation to and from camp. Three scholarships are available for 2019.
